We have separate national level exams for med, engg etc. States conduct their own test.
In med, seats get over by ~3500, at least when I wrote the exam, they have increased the intake since. I got ~600 rank.

In Turkey when you finished the med school you'll become MD and work in county or emergencies but If you want to work as a surgeon or in other clinical areas you'll take another exam called TUS to become a specialist.

Then you can get a job/start your practice as a GP or write another exam to get into a post graduate program, which is for 3 years.

3rd year -> pharma, patho and theorics of clinical sciences like urology, internal medicine, obstetrics, neurology, neurosurgery and other surgeries...
4rd and 5th years-> medical visits for each clinical branchs.
6th year-> you are an intern doctor. night shifts, earning experiences and you even have a small amount of wage.
