Herbouwen die handel. Onze stad was eens zo mooi. Rebuild this city. I don't like this contrast. Where is our glory? It's a shame that a lot of our canals are gone

Va?
Utbildningen omfattade inledningsvis lätta handeldvapen, men successivt tillfördes tyngre vapen. Totalt utbildades 13 000 norska soldater i Sverige."

I still think all those cities have to be repaired. Although, there is a lot of work to do. Are there any plans to reconstruct the destroyed towers/ city gates of Frankfurt?
San Franciscans will have to post pics from 1906.

Torn down same as pic related. They were temporary from the start though.

Looking at this thread makes me wanna hurl. Cities used to have so much character - I can tell which ones are Northern European, which ones hosted world expositions and which ones had a tropical colonial past. Now its all the same ugly concrete flats, expensive condos and foreign-owned megamalls. I won't even bother posting city images from my country it would just make me have nostalgic feels
How about a 1907 movie?

If I remember correctly there were plans in the beginning of the century to reconstruct the "Langer Franz" (townhall tower) and some other towers nearby. That project unfortunately faded out a bit. But at least there has already been serious discussion about it.
Still, in Frankfurt (and some other cities – Dresden, for example) they seem to be heading in the right direction recently. I don't want to get my hopes too high up, but step by step we might be getting there.
On the other hand, there are some cities, where nothing but a second attempt could really help. Stuttgart, Pforzheim, Hanau… the only thing those towns (and many other) really have in common with their historical predecessor is their geographical position.
How is Rotterdam doing btw? It's a shame what happened to that city… I wish we could just push an "undo" button for pretty much everything that happened in those few years, so much cultural heritage lost mostly in a few hours…
