Looking at the OP I'm wonder how whoever led us post war managed to fuck everything up so bad despite us getting so much money. The Germans and French managed to keep a lot of their industry going but ours all fell apart, we were the sick man of Europe by the 70s. Whoever was running this country did a shit job.
