Meh new BMWs are shit , BMW was only good when they made the 3.25i e30s at 1980 to beat up Mercedes.
It's a beautiful drivers car , shifting is fun , handling is great and the car is capable of alot.
Of course you can't compare it with an Camaro S on the track but it sure is alot of fun ( also cheap to fix , but does need alot of fixes because it is kinda fragile )

I actually like most of German cars but BMW sucks balls recently , they put no effort in their cars ( and when they do they charge the shit out of it , for fucks sake new factory 4.30s have PLASTIC sticked tires , it's really humiliating to what was once BMW ). I also don't like where Mercedes is going , it kind of looks like they have left the sport luxury way and they are beginning to be a literal chinese version of what they used to be ( C180 and A180 , both had great potential for a drivers car but they suck ).
Audi is kind of okay ish. I do really like VWs , esspecially their new ( well not actually new anymore , it's like 3 years old ) Golfs. They make wonderful mid tier cars and with same engine great sporty cars ( Seat Leon , that one has alot of potential and is now one of the most popular hatchbacks here. It sold really well and it deserved it.).
Porsches are kind of a lost cause though , they are trying to compete in alot of varieties and their competetors are no small companies like they used to be. Nissan is right now starting to kick Porsche's ass at making supercars while Porsche is foolishly ruining his prestige as it tries to compete in sports sedans and SUVs.

Modern "muscle" is mostly bought by boomers though, and boomers love their autos.

I know he was educated at Stanford and I wanted to make sure, so I visited his wikipedia page and came across this.

>Musk is a self-described American exceptionalist and nationalist, describing himself as "nauseatingly pro-American". According to Musk, the United States is "[inarguably] the greatest country that has ever existed on Earth", describing it as "the greatest force for good of any country that's ever been". Musk believes outright that there "would not be democracy in the world if not for the United States", arguing there were "three separate occasions in the 20th-century where democracy would have fallen with World War I, World War II and the Cold War, if not for the United States".

Good sum-up of the French car philosophy, except for the automatic. I don't understand why the French keep buying Renault, the cars are overpriced. A lot of French turn to Dacia though.

You can't say that. Mercedes did the best cars and the best engines in the world when all this electronic wasn't a fucking thing.
1000 000 km was common for thèse god tier cars.

But VW/Opel/Audi ? Wew.
Nice engines for BMW tho. But still barely reliable on a lot of models.

In France we can get fined 75 euros or more for 3 kmh overspeed. We are the most restrictive country in the world for car drivers. We have really good roads and highways (even if not very broad), but people drive worse every year. Now we are the only developed country where deaths by car accident go up. We have no great car races except for rally. Le Mans used to be a thing, but I don't think it's relevant today. The French car culture is long dead and gone. Except for the twingo, that's a fun car imo.

US unfortunately doesn't have many good luxury cars. Only Tesla and Cadillac are worth spending your money on. Teslas are expensive and Caddys still have the old people connotation even though they're pretty fucking badass now.

It's already cleaner than combustion engines. But the main point is that the powerplants can slowly be phased out while being replaced with cleaner alternatives. But getting electric car market strong now means more investment in battery tech meaning we're better prepared to fully phase out gasoline cars sooner rather than later.
