Lived there for like a year or two when I was 9-10. Visited a few times after.
Cold and boring as shit, but friendly. The people are basically Canadians, and sound and act just like Canadians. They even say "eh" and "aboot" like Canadians.
When I lived in Minnesota my cousin and uncle always jokingly called me a canuck. I remember being really hurt and offended by that for some reason, to the point of crying once. I was a pussy ass kid.

As a life long Minnesotan resident who is planning to go to school in Canada, I do believe that we are very different from Canadians.
I just rolled past the police station where they were protesting the Jamar Clark shooting. Not a person, tent, wooden pallet or communist flag in sight. Just a police station.
