I'd say San Diego, Portland, SLC (if you can handle mormons), maybe Seattle or San Fransisco. Not a lot of crime, people are generally chill, and you have a much less ghetto aspect to most of these cities (mexicans are far less dangerous than blacks).

The riots you saw on TV last year were in the ghetto, and if you saw the rest of Baltimore, it was perfectly normal. Baltimore is also not poor, we have one of the largest East coast port, and another port is being built in the city, Baltimore is permanent headquarters of Under armour. Been to Baltimore a few times. The inner harbor is OK, but nothing special. The rest of the city reminds me of the poorer parts of Philadelphia. Also, Baltimore doesn't have much of a food scene, unlike Philadelphia and NYC.
