Shield Maidens are kind of unrealistic in the show but certainly not SJW. The protagonist orders a bunch of innocent girls, women are shown getting tortured, and Lagartha is no Mary Sue

The only annoying part of the show is that they tend to portray the Viking as "BAdass pagan beard guys" and everyone else as " lame no fun having Christian dummies". Also the battle formations make me want to throw up... the Saxond unironically are shown not forming a shield wall but standing in some wierd spaced out loose stance. but overall its a pretty solid show for the story
