>Be a Weaboo in an Anglosphere university
>Get high GPA and honors
>Do summer internships
>Take Japanese as a minor
>Graduate
>Go to Japan
>Buy a black 'grad recruitment suit' and find job
>Send employment applications
>Get interview
>Interviewer doesn't give a shit about my GPA, honors or internship experience

>End up getting a grad position shared by other Japanese who:
>Went to Japanese university
>Didn't need to get good grades
>Binge drink regularly with other undergads
>summer semester breaks consisted of clerking at some convenience stores, doing one week internships that only test character, and going to private schools that teach you how to write cover letters and ace job interviews.
>Sucking up to OBs and OGs of your university who work at potential hires

>Your pay check this month is less than 240,000 yen per month (US$2,500) pre-tax

Apart from weaboos who like anime and martial arts, why the fuck do you want to go to Japan so much?
>>
If a Harvard grad works as a cashier at McDonald's he's getting the same pay as the other cashiers. What the fuck were you expecting?

The food in Japan is quite good.

this. i'm not a gastronome but typically the second best or sometimes the best place to have any type of food (italia, french, anything) is in tokyo

a harward cashier would bring prestige to the establishment making his labor more valuable

The point is that a Harvard grad shouldn't be working at McDonald's, unless he studied something useless like liberal arts.
>>

What a shit greentext.

Did it ever occur to you that Japan just like any other country has employment pathways heavily biased towards people with connections, something you, as a smelly gaijin, lack considerably?
That goes for the locals too, but as a gaijin you're just shooting yourself in the foot by attempting to play on their turf with a mediocre grasp of their language..
Otherwise
>suck it up and try harder

Or just do what everyone else does and stay in your home country and wait for a good position in Japan to come up, if it's good, take it.

That is probably the problem here. Liberals arts degree offer critical thinking skills that strongly transfer into other areas. I think the problem here is this guys personal problems not his education.

I can sort of understand obsession with anime and yellow fever... but did you seriously romantize the whole 12 hours work days in business suits aspect? That's depressing

That's mostly because of the over saturation isn't it? I've heard a lot about how the majority of their work days are just them doing nothing because there's so little work to do.

People knock liberal arts degrees since they don't directly translate to an obvious employment path. This, coupled with the fact that dumbasses who can barely dress themselves put themselves in liberal arts programs cause "lol math is hard" leads to a statistical lower employment rate among liberal arts grads, and the ubiquitous "unemployed 20-something with a degree" syndrome. The trick to not have this happen to you is: during undergrad major in what interests you, but also minor in something broad and "practical" and do internships. For example, I am a history major with a double minor in business and economics, and my school is close to DC so I've done numerous internships. My school is also in the top 100 schools in the country. Because of this, even though most students here are liberal arts grads, grads maintain 95% employment/grad school participation rate (90% being employment) within one year of graduation. Average starting salary for grads is $55000, with mid-career salaries upwards of $100000. Basically, just be unique, competant, and don't go to a shit-tier school and you'll be fine, and also realize/accept you'll 99% likely to end up working in business at some point.

on another note, can someone explain why Japanese tend to wear surgical masks so much, sometimes even when visiting other countries?
>>
>>57365125
They know about the chemtrails and whats in them zionist jets leave behind all over the world.

Japanese are wise
>>
>>57365125
They mostly wear them because they're ill or because they don't want to get ill, online people wear them to somewhat protect their identity.
>>
>>57365125
In Japan, it's common courtesy if you are sick to wear a mask so you don't spread it. Makes sense considering population density and use of mass transit. Also, Japanese people on average tend to weak immune systems, so it's not uncommon for Japanese tourists to wear masks when in a foreign place.
>>
>>57365214
Reason why westerners dont wears masks is because they're filthy disease ridden piggus to begin with
>>
>>57363349
Not many people care about academic performance in the west either. Here in the UK no one distinguishes between a 2.1 and first degree unless your doing a masters.
>>
>>57365250

more like proper humans with functioning immune systems
>>
>tfw being a white man your greatest weapon is all the diseases you are carrying that you're immune to

>>
>>57365349
Yea, right. Because no one ever gets sick around here.

Got a fucking horrible cold a few days ago because I visited my nieces. Little kids, they are deadly.
They could just wear the fucking mask, but nope. Everyone in family has to get sick instead of them using protection.

>>
>>57365902
Haven't read that, just know that we brought along a fuckton of diseases from animals that we were immune to since we have been living close to domesticated animals for years.
>>
>>57362604
most whites in Japan are basically losers who could not make their own living in their country for various reasons being weeb or uneducated.

Asia is kinda trash bin for white trash.
>>
>>57366025
You're just an idiot then, because we weren't immune to plagues just because we lived with domesticated animals, just a little better at dealing with the ones we had.

Native Americans having more domesticated animals wouldn't have made them not die from our plagues, it would've made us die from their plagues.
>>
>>57364110
Are they having such different work ethics?
>>
>>57366117
The disease with the highest deathtoll was Smallpox though, a disease that you become immune to after surviving.
>>
>>57366383
Being immune to Smallpox doesn't make you immune to the Bubonic plague, Tuberculosis, Influenza, or really anything other than Smallpox.

If Native Americans had their own plagues, they would've been immune to them, but not Smallpox.
>>
>>57366592
Most of the diseases we brought over were the same as smallpox though, get infected and you're immune.

>If Native Americans had their own plagues, they would've been immune to them, but not Smallpox.
If Native Americans had domesticated animals the animal viruses would've mutated to human ones and the humans would've mutated to become immune to them, just like we did.
>>
>>57366929
>get infected and you're immune.
Provided you don't die first, oh wait, that's what happened.
>the animal viruses would've mutated to human ones and the humans would've mutated to become immune to them, just like we did.
You really have no idea what you're talking about, do you?
>>
>>57366929
>get infected and you're immune

that's what happened, the ones who survived acquired immunity. only unlike in, say, Europe their land ended up being occupied before there was any chance of their population bouncing back
>>
>>57365214
>In Japan, it's common courtesy if you are sick to wear a mask so you don't spread it.
They don't wear it for other people, they wear it for their own health.
>>
>>57366985
Mutated was probably the wrong word to use, through hundreds of years of natural selection we've become somewhat immune/resistant to smallpox though, especially communities with lots of cows and exposure to cowpox.
>>
>>57367295
Also helps that children are a lot more resistant to pox than older people, that helped reduce the deathtoll.
>>

I don't think you understand how the hivemind works. Social codex dictates that they also prevent infection of others.
