it's more on the humid side than dry (summer peak temperatures are around 30-40C, but most of it is due to humidity)
if you're in Toronto, the usual places to go to are Niagara falls or CN tower. you can also just walk around the city. personally, i like going north (around Georgian Bay) or east because they have nice places for outdoor activities like camping and hiking. however, you still need to drive ~3-4hrs to get there. Have fun!
