In a more serious note, some of Japan's post WWII culture had been interesting. They were one of the first to cater animation to adults. There was actually huge period after WWII where Japanese art was a fusion of impressionism and neorealism. This combination got the japanese to pump out media that had never been seen before (mostly antiwar stuff). Now that art form has lost it's meaning and as they progress to post modernism there is literally nothing interesting.
