not gonna lie that looks like a comfy city
>>
There was a blockbuster in a strip mall near me, it went down years ago but the sign is still there.
>>
Is it because Australian internet is so shit video streaming is still inconvenient?
>>
>>57301528
Didn't they die out about 6-7 years ago?
>>
>>57303188
Top kek, it's most likely. I mean, downloading a movie it's going to take a day and 20% of your data cap, you might just pay a buck or two to rent the physical movie.

They could still be replaced by redbox kiosk. I guess they're just 10 years behind technologically yet some how they're caught up or ahead of us socially in SJW crap.

It's still alive in Mexico too, in fact I rented a movie like 2 years ago from there
>>
I miss blockbuster t b h.
>>
My local one only closed at the start of last year. Got a fuckload of cheap games from them, and a few blu rays. The manager said all the stock was going up to swan hill (northwest victoria).

they took down the store where i live but left up the sign for some reason

Holy fucking shit. Blockbuster is one of the few defunct companies i have great memories of. Wish i could be over there to look around just one last time.
>>
>>57303822

How old is that screenshot? Z-Nation is filming its 3rd season now...
>>
>>57301528
Damn I miss renting movies. Good memories. I don't think there's a single video rental shop in my whole city of 800,000 anymore.

I wonder if the next hipster generation will revive video rental as a retro/ironic hobby, like vinyl is now.

>watching movies in shitty quality on netflix instead of buying/torrenting blue-rays
>>
>>57308658

It won't. Vinyl has better sound quality as the music is compressed a shit ton less than mp3 files.

Movies are the opposite because as time goes on, technology improves to make the format better.
>>
>>57303482
We don't even have Redbox kiosks in Canada anymore. If you want a physical DVD you have to buy it at fucking wal-mart.
>>
>>57308658
I live in a "city" of 30,000 and we have a few video rentals.
>>
>>57308771
I haven't seen one in Winnipeg in years. There might be a porno shop left in the ghetto part of town, or like a couple shelves in some shop owned by a chink.

But even all the independent ones closed down as far as I know.
>>
>>57303482
>yet some how they're caught up or ahead of us socially in SJW crap

you're delusional
>>
>>57308900
Porno shops only survived because they sold sex toys and lube, but now that you can discreetly buy your 12 inch double ended dragon dildos online I don't know how they survive.
>>
>>57301528
>australia in charge of streaming internet
>>
>>57301528
Perth still has 9 listed blockbusters stores still.
>>
>>57303188
Nope. I have ridiculously slow internet (even for Australia) becasue I come from a rural town on an island, and I still stream movies with no problem. I have no idea how Blockbuster is still alive. Maybe old people still rent DVDs.
