Those kinds of things can hep a bit but they're supplements to regular learning. Regular learning being studying, conversation, or consuming content in English. The number one method I see on here for learning English is people that grew up with a lot of things they watch/listen/do in English, but that's much harder to do as adults.
playing video games when i was a kid
also i had some english books so that was even better for me. the key is to start learning (apart from school) when you're -10 y.o

>muh critical period
>>57295835
i'm not implying that you won't learn english if you don't start as a kid, but it's going to make everything easier and quicker
70% of argies probably don't have a basic english level, even if they have to learn it in school, nobody seems to give a fuck

I go to a English Academy but, honestly, most of English that I learned was by Internet. I have a great capacity memorizing
English Academy and media in english. Videogames, books and chinese cartoon subtitles in english.

by growing up in an english speaking country
When i started browsing 4chan.
I watched tons of sitcoms, starting with Two and a Half Men (I'm sorry) and then moved on to Seinfeld and such. After that, I consumed mostly English-language media, movies, books, music, everything. I'm pretty much undistinguishable from a native US speaker when it comes to vocab and accent, at least so I've been told in the states.
Unfortunately I never read high literature in English, except for the Token Shakespeare play in school. I read Poe but that was it. When it comes to philosophy and such I just stick to German because German philosopher and poets are based as fuck and our language is severly underrated.
We had a good teacher who taught us pretty well. Everything else comes from American cultural influence. It's pretty sad really, even our Uni-teacher, who is american, told us that Finns pronounce English better than almost everyone else he has ever met. We are anglocucked.
>>57295513
Looks like you need some more practice.
>>57301046
Do you think there was a period when 4chan corrupted your English when you were first starting out?
>>57301271
Finns really hate bad pronunciation of English from themselves. It's actually intolerable for them, a cultural Finn cannot live with the thought of a Finn pronouncing English wrong. This has lead to a situation where actually everyone is a fluent english speaker and at the same time hates their country for being not anglo enough.

why'd you ask? Is something wrong with my english?
>>57301860
Your English is fine, but 4chan almost has its own variant of English. It makes me feel like there might be some people who use 4chan a lot to learn English but don't know the difference between 4chan English and real life English. The difference is difficult to explain, but it's definitely there.

Not him, but going to the Southern US on exchange fucked my grammar a bit.
For example I stopped saying "I've already done..." and started saying "I already did" which is technically wrong
