Vikings were pretty important for English history as well, since it culminated in the war in 1066, which was between anglo-saxons, Normans (french ex-vikings) and Norwegians. Thus the tv-shows.
I would like to see the reconquista as well. It has a clear enemy, a divided alliance between many kingdoms under the same family (besides Portugal and Leon maybe, not sure)
