That's one of those European problems, mate. Refugees have always existed, and even with the Syrian civil war the stream has not grown or shrunk. Our attitude however changed and now we're campaigning for open borders for these "refugees", most of whom aren't Syrian.
And even if theoretically speaking Africa had negative population growth, would that somehow stop the refugee stream? Would that somehow stop Europeans from opening their own borders?
It's a European problem once again.

But these projections account for demographic transition.
The UN last year raised it's projections for Africa because of a stunning lack of falling birth rates.
