The Lebanese, Syrian, Egyptian and Iraqi Christians I know are all very nice, family and community oriented, generous people. And they hate Muslims more than anyone I've met.
Also Lebanese cuisine is great.
They are treated like shit in their countries, there aren't too many of them, and they don't cause problems, so I don't care if they stay here.
I like them a lot more, they don't stab and blow people up.

Well, this is from Lebanon. Lebanon is a clusterfuck. What I understand from what my Lebanese friends tell me is that nowadays you have basically two factions: the pro-Syria and the anti-Syria faction. And there are tons of weird alliances, like the Phalangists being in a coalition with the Islamic Group, led by the Sunni Muslim party, against the pro-Syrian coalition, led by the biggest Maronite Christian party, where you have the Hezbollah, along with the Druze, the Social Nationalists, and even the pan Arab Baath party.
And there is the like 200 civil wars, or quasi civil war, the occasional proxy war between Israel and it's Arab neighbor or Israel and Iran.
So I gave up trying to understand.

After Black September, the Lebanese government didn't want the PLO in Lebanon, but they were powerless to stop them. The Palestinian situation was different than the situation with Syria; Syria's refugees aren't organized in a militia with central leadership like the Palestinians were. They forced their way into Lebanon, they weren't welcomed.

It's common knowledge that they did that to divide the Syrian population and keep Christians dependent on France. France didn't care about the Lebanese, they were just concerned with keeping their colonial subjects in line. What you reap is what you sow, I guess.
