Is it true that it is super easy to find a job in Japan? Media says that more than 90% of college grads get pretty much any job they want. How the heck did they do it?

>get pretty much any job they want.
no. it really depends on which university you graduated from. graduating from a shit university means you'll end up in a shit job and stay on a low wage.

Easy. The Japanese workforce is made of people who work within a certain mindset from childbirth till their death. Great wageslaves, not so great when you want innovation.

Japan is really backwards in regards to social status etc, isnt it?

>innovation
then how do Japanese companies stay so innovative? Is it the result of a few extremely creative people leading projects and the wageslaves just follow along?
>>

Yes it is. If you accept only a few immigrants and your birth rates are low for decades, your country will suffer from a shortage of young workers.

I'm not saying that there are no Japanese with ideas who can expend the paradigme, but it's harder and only possible when you're higher up the hierarchy already.

That makes sense, is it much harder to "rise through the ranks" in a Japanese company? Or is the structure pretty rigid in terms of promotion?

Since in Japan, wages and status rises with age instead of achievements, yes.
It still is the case for any foreigner, but since most people in japan don't speak proper English (not mentioning any other language), they'll get to places where they're needed, regardless of how high it is.
