Our people may be as different from each other as the British are from Europeans, but we still have some values in common. After all, we all say the Pledge of Allegiance. The United States of America is indivisible.
>>
United we're strong, divided we are nothing.

That being said a lot of foreigners think we are more divided than we really are because they think federal goverment has a huge impact on our lives, when in reality our federal government probably impacts the lives of citizens of other countries more than it does us.

No of course not, the point is to have different places for all walks of life. Don't like the politically correct SJWs who are afraid to be adults? Move to New England. Don't like brash people and dunkin? Move out west.

There is something for everybody yet we are all united under one federal government.

So what makes the people from California care for those in Texas if they are so apart from each other? And also how can the federal government have the strength to do something in a federal level if there isn't a thing that unites all those states? I mean there must be something that a guy from California has in common with another in Montana or another one in New Mexico and etc, or else your government wouldn't even sustain itself

>So what makes the people from California care for those in Texas if they are so apart from each other?
Most people, when given a comfortable life are generally caring and generous people. That being said they don't have to care about those in texas.

For instance, I don't like Californians, I have friends there and even my friends act like they are retarded. But that's the point, I don't have to live near these people, they don't effect me so I don't mind them being from the same country as me because we both have a place where we belong.

> And also how can the federal government have the strength to do something in a federal level if there isn't a thing that unites all those states?
The federal government is what unites us, a powerful military, the need to protect all of our boarders, that is what unites us. People from one state rely on the economy of another state, etc.

I don't know what you're looking for when you say there has to be something they have in common.

History is culture. It shapes it and is present in it through symbols and national identity.

At the end of the day, west coasters and southerners are both Americans that speak English and cry when an eagle lands on the american flag.

France and Polands have hundreds of years of unique history, food, music, tradition etc etc, which separates them completely.

Because if there isn't an American feeling towards everything, how come people of so many different backgrounds vote for a leader and feel represented by it, how come the federal government can pass a law that literally represents the American people, if the American people don't feel themselves common to other americans? I mean it doesn't really makes sense, there must be something that a guy from any part of the country can relate themselves to and feel themselves part of the USA, not mattering where they are. I mean not even the mass media would work if there wasn't a common denominator among americans, or not even the Army would too

>>
>>57096265
Kek, fuck you and your stupid leaf
>>
>>57097242
>how come people of so many different backgrounds vote for a leader and feel represented by it
Because, like I said before, the federal government really doesn't impact the lives of american's all that much. His main job is to protect this country and it's interests. Most of the time he has more of an impact on people of other countries than he does our own. So half the country may not agree with their views but it's a lot easier to accept when he isn't making your local laws.

Another thing you don't seem to understand, the president himself isn't passing these laws alone. The only time they are getting to the president is after state representatives vote and approval a bill.

We are common in the sense that all of our ancestors moved here for a better life, everybody who moved here, at one point in their family history, had hardship and instead of sitting around being stepped on decided to move here and try to make something of themselves.

Now we are talking about it, maybe that is literally what unites all your country: the stride for success and richness, the dream to pursuing power to do whatever the fuck you want with the money you earn. like, come on nigger, are you actually trying? americans have similar general values (especially if we consider austin into the texas equation), the same language, the same origins, same general cuisine with some minor variations in each. perhaps you only think there's slight differences because you're an american and so the differences are more real and personal to you than they would be for germany/poland, but that doesn't make you correct.

I mean despite the cultural differences, you guys still share some values. I mean just look at Trump rising up at the polls by showing how strong he is and how America should be free and that everyone should work hard and toil to become a success and a billionaire as him, meanwhile in Catholic nations people would think he is a jackass and a show off that exploits the poor population and gives no shit for other people

it has to do everything with culture, because you guys are so individualistic and striving for your own individual success that you guys will turn everything including trying to bring "equality" as in a US vs THEM thing, instead of trying to unify things and thus actually pursuing equality as it happens in most Mediterranean countries or Scandi countries. That is why I said that every little struggle in the USA actually is in the American cultural sphere not mattering how different you guys are, because you guys can't take the fact of actually living in a cultural homogenous country where the differences are much more smaller as it happens in South America or Europe, and actually want a country with huge cultural differences and huge individual opportunities to actually satisfy your pursue for individual success, I mean that is what I think it is the american dream and the american culture that actually brings your states together towards an ideal, filling your pocket with money and doing whatever the fuck you want

You guys whine so much that Guam will probably become a state before you guys.

Now that is a cultural identity I can get behind.

No, I think liberals definitely believe in that socialist crap because they (naively) feel for other people. Like a lot of them are college kids (or post-college kids) who push stuff like increased minimum because their university echo chamber told them that poor people and minorities deserve reparations and that they are all one people and shit like that. You also seem to have a really generalized, essentialized view of the US.

Pop culture. There are a lot of Hispanics in the United States and based on my observations pop culture is a major unifier between Hispanics (especially poorer ones) and other Americans.

Yeah, you have no idea what you're talking about. The majority here WORSHIPS the U.S. and in the last plebiscites 67% have voted for statehood. We don't whine. We should though.

The only reason why we're united is so some states can leech off other states taxes. If each state were to become independent, more than half of them would turn to third world shitholes.
