Okay, my bad. Silly mistake, propably because I read a book about mesoamerican civilisations and Incas were there. Now when I think about it, it was propably named the history of mesoamerican and pre columbian civilisations. Anyway both the Atztecs and Mayans were pretty much killing each other with the Incan obsidian. Neither the Atztecs or the Mayans tried to really improve stability and living conditions of the common folk, whereas the Incas built roads and food silos. I guess people in harsher enviroments just prefer preparation and calculation over YOLO-life

From what I read in this, most people in mesoamerica were named for the day they were born. Ex: I'd literally be named "May 30" (except in the format of their calendar, not the Gregorian one) because the calendar/astronomy was so important to their culture. Maybe Nahua names are different because they migrated from the north (the region of "Aridoamerica", which is northern Mexico and the southwestern US, the mythological account of the Nahua tribe migrating South from there is literally the basis of the La Raza claiming the southwest US is Mexican clay kek).
Anyways, 1491 is a really good book if you're interested in the pre-Columbian Americas.
