Yeah
Is it before or after they eat??
I can not imagine they would stop eating at any point for any excuse..
I mean, I clap at a restaurant because better things come out of there than say the Habs locker room.

In 1782, during the Eastern Incursion, the British attacked an American restaurant just as the waiter came out with the hamburgers. The heroic waiter threw the hamburgers at the British commander, blinding him for long enough for everyone to pull out their guns and shoot the British. Everyone then clapped in recognition of this man's bravery, forever cementing the tradition - and the place of hamburgers as a symbol of America.

How do you take your hat seriously? It doesn't know shit about history yet pretends to be more cultured.

I am so ignorant. Sorry America.
>>57058584
Wait, what's wrong with that?
I've never clapped in a restaurant
Some restaurants (not common on the south) that if a plate or cup is broken, everyone claps in the restaurant.
Or if it is someone's birthday and the staff is singing happy birthday
It seems a bit rude not to clap, don't you think?
People always complain the US has no culture, yet they talk shit about things like this.

1. To get the waiters attention
2. To congratulate the chef without having to disturb them by calling them over
3. To get sauce off hands
4. To make themselves be heard
5. To drown out socialist / ungodly discussion at the other table
6. Just because they feel like it
Why don't YOU clap in restaurants?
