Yes. Israel is small so the community is naturally small, respectfully. On the other hand at least half of the TV shows on children channels are from Japan so you can't say children don't like anime. 10~ years ago when I was 14~ I watched the entirety of Card Captor Sakura on TV.

Most of the old ones are really awful but as a kid I couldn't really compare haha. I should note that the kind of anime shown on national television was stuff like Alfred J. Quack, Moomin, and The Wonderful Adventures of Nils. Those are considered classics by just about every adult in the 20-35 age range.
Cable used to show stuff like Pokemon, Card Captor Sakura and Inuyasha. Of those only Pokemon and DBZ got really popular, but only among the upper-middle class which could afford cable.
