What'a wrong with Istanbul? I went there and I loved it, I'd go back and live there. I loved being able to either walk or take a train anywhere I needed to go, can't do that anywhere in the US. It's a lively, beautiful city.

T b h they plastered over most of the mosaics and frescos and went over them with their arabian patterns. Probably perfectly preserved if someone were to knock down the plaster. There's a historic church not too far from the hag (the name escapes me) where the exact same thing happened and once it went back to being a church they removed the plaster from the frescos and they were like brand new.
