Not him, but the government gives a minimum of 3700 a year for rent and living, so around 300 pounds. Which also happens to be what i get. He could come from a poor family, which would mean he gets more, with additional grants he doesn't have to pay back.

Rent isn't paid directly, because it's supposed to cover living costs as well. He's not getting an extra 500, but an extra 200 in addition to the minimum of 300. Depending on his fanily circumstance, the additional money comes in varying amounts of loans and grants.

in some countrys mcdonals food is not a relative cheap food.

for example, in spain, you can pay 8 euros for a big mac.

but you can pay the same 8 euros in a "normal" restaurante and eat two different plate of food, drink, dessert and coffe.

at least in spain mcdonals and bruguers food are not cheap. You can eat much better for the same price in a lot of restaurants here.

Ouch. Here it's £3, but if I wanted to get hot food that isn't of questionable quality I'd get some kind of pastry based snack and drink from Greggs. Costs about the same but is much better.

If I wanted to go to a restaurant I'd have to pay £5-£10 for a plate of food and a drink.

Bullshit, you can look for other jobs, take one night to write your CV, another to write out a generalized application and then start sending out applications when you have time. You can now prove that you have the ability to get up in the morning and make it to a workplace on time. That puts you way ahead of the people with no experience. It sucks to start at the bottom, but you move up and up, change jobs as you gain more experience and value to your employers.

t. Worked my way up from wrapping christmas presents to driving freight trains in 9 years. No education after high school. Now I make more money than all of my friends who went to the university and got meme-degrees plus no student debts. Working adds a lot of money to your value if you work hard and smart, just don't stagnate and stay in one place for too long.

2700 EUR/month net.

It is not really a welfare, and you can get more.

You have no rights to unemployment money if you have never been employed, so you have to do other things to get money, like things intended to get you a real job like this.
You can also get some additionaly money to pay for rent if your income is low enough.
And if you have sold all your belongings and have no money or food, you can get some money even if you don't do anything other than meet and ask for it, just to get you enough for food so you don't starve.

If you are declared unable to work, you can get way more, and likewise, if you lost your job, you can get much for a year or so before they cut your welfare.

To some degree you are right, you can still search for jobs in your free time. But you can not go around and ask in the stores, because that can only be done when you are working.
A bit frustrated that my work prevented me from going to a store that I had asked around a couple of times to see if they had any openings when they previously said they could. I also can't visit the Nav office to print CVs because they are only open in regular work hours, not that that matters much because I don't have the opportunity to hand them out.

I always fail horribly at the written söknads with personality tests and interviews, so I feel like my best option would be to meet personally, which is impossible.

Idunno. It's like, if you believe you can do it you are right. If you believe you can't do it you are also right. Sounds corny, but it does have a kernel of truth. Maybe ask your boss to get off one hour early one day to talk to someone or try to make a phone call. I once got a friend to print out stuff for me. Then there are libraries, they often have printers. Some towns have printer stores. Like I said, if you think you can do it you can do it. There is always a way to make it, and always a reason to fail.
