French beer is meh. Take it from a guy who drank his way through europe. What I tried that was french was drinkable but nothing to write home about.

desu the quality of anchor has gone down the hills lately, that particular brew isn't roasty at all nowadays. Look no further than good old Fuller's.

Is american craft beer a lot of IPA's because honestly IPA's taste like shit and are only made because of how easy they are. Give me a nice golden/red ale or bitter anyday.
>>
>>56878186
>The French guy thinks France has the best beer in Europe
Germany beats you guys in everything, beer included.
>>
>>56878538
I tried both of those. Lighter beers really aren't my thing
>>
>>56878651
Shut up fuck up
>>
>>56878590
There's way too many IPAs. Hard as fuck to reliably find good stouts, reds, ambers, blondes.
>>
>>56878186
Your beer is made with fish findings. And it is vastly inferior to Czech and lithuanian beer.

Though it is always amusing when frenchies think they are #1 at x. Maybe at importing half of the third world, but that's about it desu

11% , dark beer
>>
>>56878702
French beer isn't bad, but calling it the best in Europe is ridiculous. Like saying New Mexico makes the best beer in the US.
>>
>>56878590
There are as many IPAs as there are breweries. I have no idea why every fucking idiot who decides to brew beer makes one and I really have no idea who buys them because no one I know likes them. Local American beers are great if you avoid the IPAs
>>
>>56878764
>page 24 barley wine
I had some sort of page 24 blond. Too late to try it now m8 I drink american beer here and I don't think anyone imports french beer in the states.
>>
>>56877984
didnt you see all the memes of how americans cannot into beer?

the meme is real

American beer is like having sex in a canoe.

It's fucking close to water.
>>
>>56878942
I prefer czech.
>>
>>56878590
IPAs are ubiquitous and IMO there are plenty of good ones out there in addition to stouts. The american craft industry runs a wide spectrum of beer, it's really a matter of what's available in your area.

But I never tried that one..

I drink macro British (read: European) stuff about 30% of the time, uk/us craft 35% of the time and local traditional ale 35%.

Like 'em all desu.

>>56879477
Bit limited imo.

I love bocks and weissebier but they get old quick desu.

Helles are one dimensional, though good compared to most lagers.
>>
>>56879306

That one I posted has a kind roasted bitter cocoa malt type taste. They don't put any chocolate in it. The cocoa type taste comes from the mashing process.

We have some bretty good ones to be fair, but we lack the quality and quantity the real beer countries have (czech rep, belgium).

What's your favorite American brewery? Also, is Samuel Smith any good? I've heard wildly contradictory things about it from my friends.

>>
>>56879421

No men, come on... What about the Weiß, Swarz, rotbiers, rauchbiers (wich actually never tried because I can't find these here).

I enjoy drinking any good beer, the only ones I do not like are the Lambic beers...

Ohhh! My bad..

Yeah, generally, all flavored beers make them based on Stout's.
>>

We don't get too wide a selection over here 2bh

Fan of Sierra Nevada & Founders but never been blown away by 'em. Liked everything I've had by Oskar Blues and Lagunitas.

Don't rate Stone.

Would like to try Cigar City stuff, and Grapefruit Sculpin (just because I love Grapefruit desu).

Samuel Smiths is a favourite brewery of mine, but in large part because they own/run brilliant pubs, with beautiful 200+yr old buildings and sell cheap beer (relative to others in London).

I rate their bottled beer, but it does vary. Their lagers/IPA/pales are mediocre at best imo. Their Nut Brown Ale & Yorkshire Stingo (Barley Wine) are top tier though.

Got good taste my dude. Deschutes and Ninkasi are both alright too, and are probably the only Oregonian brands you'd be able to find in the UK. I'll have to get some Sam next time I'm at the store.
