What do you find strange with other Slavic languages and how would you fix them?
I'll start with Czech.
Remove vowel length, remove the "n" that is pronounced when m is followed by ě instead pronounce it as [mje] or [m´e]
Reintroduce "y" as a separate phoneme, soft "L" and revert "h" back to "g" and remove the diphthong "ou"
>>56875993
>remove vowel length
>revert ř back to soft [rʲ]
That would be enough, the other is more or less bearable.
>>56878432
Good point, but I'd be more comfortable with having those changes implemented too. Also I want soft "a" back

The fact that every Slavic language uses either Latin or Cyrillic letters goes to show that letters aren't really that important. Serbian for example doesn't have a lot of paired consonants, but they use both Latin and Cyrillic letters
>>56884970
I like the way you think. I must say that the Russian pronunciation and grammar is the least Slavic compared to the West and South Slavic languages, meaning the grammar has been simplified and the pronunciation makes Russian the French of Slavic langugages

No second palatalization (g->z, k->c, h(ch)->š)
Some exceptions - zvezda (gvezda), cena, cvetok (kvetok)
The cases have been simplified even further compared to the relatively easy Polish ones. Czech is suicide tier
No "to be" in present tense, which frees us from pic related
The se/się that is used with verbs is stuck with the verb in Russian, so no need to mess with it either. Učiťsya - uczyć się/učit se
No short forms of personal pronouns
Mene - me(accusative/genitive), tebe - te(acc/gen), jego - go(acc/gen), meni - mi(dative), tebi - ti(dative)
Russian words and morphemes very much resemble the Old Slavic ones, making it easy to draw parallels between other Slavic languages and Russian. Polish ia, a, ie, e have all turned into Russian e, same goes for most, but not all, Czech e, ě, é, i, í.
Las - les, wiara - vera, lekarz - lekar´, sieć - seť
The Russian adverbs are easy compared to the Czech and Polish ones. Bystro, krasivo, dobro. While the Czech and Polish adverbs fuck around with two endings (o and e), of which "e" triggers second palatalization in Czech and simply softens the consonant in Polish.
Vysoký - vysoce, nízký - nízce
No vocative
Russian only has oni, no one/ony and they way it handles animate and non-animate words is easier. If it breaths, it's alive

>>56887586
Since Russian is not a PIŠI KAO ŠTO GOVORIŠ, ČITAJ KAKO JE NAPISANO language, that wouldn't work
ь is sometimes used without it serving any purpose whatsoever (пишeшь)
And ь can be combined with almost if not all consonants, while it is more of a leftover in Serbo-Croatian. Worth noticing is that Czech has lost this difference altogether, but it still affects the declination

That's not truth actually. Even though Russian has dropped most of the sound alternations the palatalization made (I can only remember drug/druzja), it doesn't mean it didn't have it at all.
>The cases have been simplified even further compared to the relatively easy Polish ones. Czech is suicide tier
Hmm. How much declension paradigms does it have?

You don't even want to know. Even if you were to look for every rare case ending in Russian you wouldn't even be close to the Czech endings. I'll post them here

I just wanted to say that the statement "Russian have no second palatalization" is not correct. We don't say "kniagj" instead of "kniazj" or "kelyj" instead of "celyj". It's not very important in this context, but still.
>Bože, carju, Iisuse, druže
All of them except for "bože" are obsolete in the modern language. I was talking about the new vocative actually: mama -> mam, Vasia -> Vasj, Lena -> Len etc
>>56890886
