Yay. With the qualification that you must first meet the EU's entry requirements. That would take several years.

Here is a map showing my favoured maximum enlargement of the EU.
>>
yeah just cook the numbers a bit like we did and get ready for enrichment ;)

why not if Romania can join any shithole can

Sorry. I don't have anything against Turkey but the inclusion of another country with such a large population would shift the power balance in a detrimental way to my interests. Also, the frontiers of the EU with Turkey inside would be worrying to say the least. Very unstable.

For the same reason I refuse to accept any of the Caucasus countries like Georgia.
>>
>>56848493
Georgia is in Europe now?
>>
>>56848593
Depends on your definition of Europe. Using the normal boundaries, Georgia is slightly in Europe. Turkey and Russia are also partly in Europe. Greenland is technically part of North America but it's also Danish clay so I include it on that basis.

So you could justify having countries like Russia, Turkey and Georgia but I don't think it would work
>>
we should to do something with corrupt politics and putin shills
>>
>>56848734
Also note that according to this map Cyprus is not part of Europe but it's in the actual EU and my EU
>>
>>56848734
>Georgia
>Turkey
>Russia
That's some weird ass definition of Europe you have there.
>>
More like Moldova into Romania, as it is supposed to be.
>>
>>56848823
They're not fully in Europe, they are partly in Europe.

The proper term for those countries would be "Eurasian"
>>
>>56846034
That is the perfect representation of a EUROPEAN union, no further expansion to that. Although Greenland already left EEC in 1975 so meh
>>
>>56848863
Not quite perfect. I realised after I posted that I forgot Gibraltar. Will fix it later.

>Although Greenland already left EEC in 1975 so meh
We can always send the Royal Navy to "persuade" Greenland to come back
>>
>>56848848
Every country in Eurasia is Eurasian. And I can kinda understand Turkey and maybe Russia(because of Kaliningrad, I assume?), but how is Georgia in Europe?
>>

Part of Georgia is in Europe, look at this map >>56848734

No
We don't need more poor shitholes

>>56848999
This map shows half of Russia to be in Europe for some reason, so it's hardly the most accurate piece of information.

The borders of Europe have always been pretty arbitrary, that is the most common model. Where should they be according to you?

>Every country in Eurasia is Eurasian
Ok sure but you know what I meant

>but how is Georgia in Europe?
Orthodox boundaries of Europe extend to - and include - the Urals, the Ural river and the Caucasian Mountains. That mountain range is partly inside Georgia. It's a very small part of Georgia, but it's the same idea with Turkey.

>>56848947
>What are your interests?
My interests are that the Big Three remain the strongest powers in the EU, and that the borders of the EU are manageable and defend-able. Population matters for the European Parliament etc. Population of the Big Three is currently as follows:

Germany: 80m
France: 65m
UK: 64m

Then we have,
Russia: 144m
Turkey: 75m

So you can see that including Russia or Turkey would have effect on the balance of power.

I wasn't completely sure about Ukraine, which is around 45 million, but I decided it's worth it due to the geo-strategic benefits they bring to the table especially regarding the Black Sea. The extra countries will dilute the power of the Big Three but they won't threaten their supremacy, like Russia or Turkey would
>>
>>56849262
This >>56846034 is what people think, when they think of Europe. Why would anyone ever consider Georgia to be in Europe is beyond me, it is nowhere near.
>>
>>56846034
The borders of Europe end with the Ural mountains

>My interests are that the Big Three remain the strongest powers in the EU, and that the borders of the EU are manageable and defend-able.
No, those are your autism-simulator VicII/EUIV nationalistic interests, what are your REAL interests as an individual?

Example: My best interests are that Poortugal remains in the EU despite the fact that it's killing the country so I can easily emigrate to a better place and move freely inside the union.
>>
>>56849287
>Orthodox boundaries of Europe extend to - and include - the Urals, the Ural river and the Caucasian Mountains.
tfw I was european and shiet all along, neat. Greetings, my European brothers.
>>
>>56849411
Yes, correct. The map shows my ideal EU not my idea of Europe. Greenland is part of North America not Europe, but I've included it in my EU

>>56849460
>what are your REAL interests as an individual?
My interests as an individual are what I said. My personal opinion of the EU is that it will be more successful, and benefit me more, if those three countries are leading it.

But Russia is culturally, ethnically and religiously European, it would only strengthen the new EU
>>
>>56849820
>Russia is culturally, ethnically and religiously European
Now this is podracing.
>>
>>56849820
In terms of attitude towards the European style parliamentary democracy, Russia is very different. There are strong autocratic tendencies in Russia due to their history. It is simply not compatible unless it undergoes a very major culturally shift. There are huge problems with corruption too.

Ukraine and maybe some others also have corruption problems, but they are willing to embrace European style democracy and if part of the EU, Ukraine is too small to influence the rest.

Russia with its big population would be very powerful inside the EU. More powerful than Germany is now. This influence due to the reasons above would have a negative and powerful effect on how the EU operates

I'd prefer this, EU politics is a shit show, and only the core should stick around for the "wage equalization".
>>
>>56850028
>Russia with its big population would be very powerful inside the EU. More powerful than Germany is now
Yeah but Germany, UK and France always act in sync on almost every decision. Thus you have 209 million versus Russia's 144 million. Western countries still hold over 2/3 in terms of voting power.
Just saying.
>>
>>56850173
>Yeah but Germany, UK and France always act in sync on almost every decision.
They actually don't. That is the main reason the EU doesn't get much done, or achieves only a half-baked solution. Russia would obviously need a coalition to force through change, but it's far easier for them to form such a coalition.

To give you a real example of how this might play out, look at Nordstream, which Germany favours and France and the UK sceptical of. Germany has isolated itself by pushing for the Nordstream deal. If Russia was inside, you can easily see much bigger projects being pushed through with the agreement of one or two major players + buying off some smaller countries
