Russians of /int/:
I've been learning russian for a little while now, and I've never eally understood how to pronounce letters that end with either "ь" or "ъ". If anyone could tell me how, that'd be much appreciated.

These soften the letter that come before them. So get that consonant all mushy and stuff when you pronounce it
tl;dr Russians are closet homos
>>56819052
Nevermind, you'll never understand the difference
>>56819052
You don't pronounce them.
Ь makes the consonant before it sound soft, ъ makes it sound hard
>>56819052
I can try to explain.
ь - "soft sign". It makes the previous sound "soft". Also it makes the letter after it sound like it would sound if it is first letter of the world.
For example: "нeт" is like english "net" nut with soft n(do you understand this diffirence? If not it's better start from understanding it). If you write "ньeт" (this word do not exist btw, but sometimes russian writers illustrate misspelling russian word "нeт" by foreigners) it will sound like "nyet".

As for ъ - the situation is same, but it do not make the letter sound soft - only makes the letter after it sound like it the first letter of the word.
so, to be accurate:
нeт - n(soft)et
ньeт - n(soft)yet
нъeт - n(hard)yet

You don't need to pronounce the, they change the sound of the letters with which they're combined.
