It seems in wikipedia and in university studies Latin america is mostly considered western. I have to admit some places in Bolivia and Peru stray too far from western culture though.
But New Zealand has a stronger influence of the culture of the natives than Uruguay or Argentina for example, and its considered western, so I don't see why not.

I used to debate whether Brazil was western or not because of the stereotypes of the typical Brazilian, but after watching some YouTube channels I realised that I wouldn't be able to tell an American from a Brazilian and the cities (for the most part) aren't as shitty as some other Latin American countries so I promote Brazil up to western standards along with Ecuador because it reminds me of where I live oddly

For most of US and Europe during the Cold War, Eastern Europe was definitely NOT Western.
Western how? Politically? Culturally? Economically? Geographically?
Can a country become Western or lose Western status? Is Poland Western? Was it Western during the Cold War? If Ukraine joins the EU, is it Western? What about Croatia?
What about during colonial times? Were colonies Western? Was Greece under Ottoman control Western?
