I can't imagine that he'd be getting anything done, since establishment republicans, conservatives, and democrats all hate him.

I'd probably just continue on with my life, and hope that the next 4 years of nothing happening in the government will help foster a more revolutionary attitude in the US, but it almost certainly wont. He's not gonna win tho.

Its true, how the Fuck is he going to win the Republican support?
He won't, he will have to run as independent and he has no chances that way, even if the republicans elect him " no gonna happen " but whatever he still has to beat Hillary I don't like her but she us the favorite no doubt, Hillary would have to be in jail or dead for trump to win.
>>
>>56784044
Regardless, tell me one thing Trump wants to do that's actually bad
Obviously he won't actually build the wall, but he wants to stop all the illegal immigration. Nothing at all wrong with that.
He wants to screen muslims before they enter the country. Look at Belgium and Paris and everywhere else. Absolutely nothing wrong with that.
He wants the USA to leave NATO. Nothing wrong with that at all, since the rest of NATO isn't pulling their own weight and we're not going to let Turkey or some shit hole drag us into WW3

People don't understand that Trump is what we need, but because he hurts your feelings you refuse to listen.
>>
>>56784044
Putin came to power during a period of intense instability. Trump would need the support of the military to become a dictator and I doubt the military could ever be convinced to support that

I don't think Trump has wrong ideas but he comes across as a total inept diplomat who relies too much on sensationalism to make sure his voice is heard.

That said, imagine him having a sitdown with a bunch of world leaders and he doesn't want to be kept on a tight leash by his corporate overlords/the electorate/whoever is pulling the strings. It wouldn't surprise me if he talks some real shit and create further tension between superpowers. That's kinda what I expect him to do.

>>56784328
I guess I'm talking about Putin's later years, where he didn't want to relinquish power but had to depend on democracy anyway. So Medvedev became his sockpuppet and Putin got back in charge afterwards. It wouldn't surprise me if Trump wants to be a political kingpin after his term. 's all I'm saying.

He's not an established politician and it takes a lot to make your name heard in an election. I don't see why everyone is arguing over what he says when he's just saying it to to drum up votes. Personally, I want the US to continue withdrawing from Europe so our governments are forced to take defence more seriously. Relying on a stronger country is dangerous.

It's already begun under Obama. Some missed it but the Americans have been closing down bases across Europe the past few years.
>>
>>56787897
>military coup or something.
I wouldn't rule this out in the next 10-20 years, the backroom feds would support it as would a lot of the rural/southern people I suspect
>>
>>56787789
Well, I agree with you, but for that we'd need European army and that's not going to happen with our current mindset

Nations of Europe can't accept that past times of glory are over and we have to band together if we want to influence the world even in Europe's backyard and be able to defend ourselves
>>
>>56788035
And opening new ones in Eastern Europe.
>>
>>56787945
You can't actually rig the vote

The elites have indirect control over it through using their money to puppet candidates and give them money to run ads/campaign which has been absolutely necessary to win. Trump isn't bought and has too many rabid rednecks and frat boys for these strats to take him down, if Hillary doesn't develop an effective strategy that works then she is fucked.

I am not a Trump supporter, I support Cruz but don't believe its realistic for him to win.
>>
>>56788066
>but for that we'd need European army
Nonsense. You are just blind to Europe's dormant strength. Look at the minimal effort the major European powers currently put into defence. Just think what European militaries would look like if UK, France and Germany spent 3.7% GDP like Russia.

I see, but that's one anti-missile system with just 200 personnel in Romania, and a NATO (not US) military "post" in Lithuania. The distinction is important because if it's a NATO post it doesn't have to be garrisoned by Americans.

On the other hand all of these places in red are closing. These are US-operated rather than NATO bases.
>>
>>56788676
Hmm, that's pretty alarming.
Honestly, no offence intended, I think USA is the only NATO country that would be likely to do shit if Eastern European NATO countries were under attack. Good thing Hillary is going to win (sucks for Americans though).
>>
>>56788602
if they threw in some bill of rights/constitution/fixing america talk in they would get most of the american right onboard quick
the left probably wouldn't put up any fight worth mentioning, probably nothing much larger than a few riots at best

Personally i don't care much if the power of the west is broken since it could easily be rebuilt on simple trade deals (The EU shouldn't have diplomatic shit)
>>
>>56788785
To put it into context, Britain is basing 1000 troops in Poland from 2017 which is much more than the US's extra commitments. So if they become under attack we are under attack too.

http://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-britain-poland-military-idUKKCN0UZ31A

Baltics are very hard to defend though. Even with the US committed, they'd have to be lost and won again. Would be hard.
>>
>>56788847
Yeah that would work I guess

I'm not sure how I would feel about it though, it depends on how the new government would function, but I would probably dislike it.
>>

Nice, thanks for that m80s. Good thing We probably won't be the first ones to get invaded if shit goes down, which I don't think will if NATO keeps a strong pressence over here, or if we finally get a normal army. Mandatory conscription is gonna increase our numbers significantly, I hope, and we're steadily increasing our defense budget.
>>
>>56788785

>>
>>56789105
Another thing in your advantage is your EU membership. It's funny to say this because of all the EU's problems at the moment, but the governments of the EU are mostly committed to it continuing to exist. Any attack against an EU member state would be such a shock to Europe's elites that it's likely they will be pushed into action.

Ofc the EU isn't a military alliance and there's nothing to compel an EU state to defend another but if an EU state is attacked, the vested interests of some powerful countries is suddenly under threat

We aren't "opening up new bases" per se. We're actually stationing our troops on a rotational basis at their bases. We don't need to open new bases, we just use the ones they've already got.

Operation Atlantic Resolve. The USA has been in Europe for several years now.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-34472739

If you compare Atlantic Resolve to the US-specific bases and troops being closed/withdrawn >>56788676 then it's clear that the net effect is a gradual withdrawal from Europe

I really don't get this attitude by Americans.

The USA spends on NATO because it needs allies. If Europe wasn't allied with the USA, chances are Russia would be less aggressive towards them. Europe's dependent on a number of Russian imports. Unless Putin's literally retarded, no confrontation will ever happen on that front. Plus every time NATO forces are actually used for something, people piss themselves like it's WWIII. It's ineffectual and is really just another arm of the American imperial system.
>>
>>56803725

>>
>>56803771
We're the only ones who actually do anything with NATO. The rest of Europe aside from France and England are essentially useless. What good would a country like Norway do in the event of global war?

The cold war is over, we don't need to project power over Europe anymore. We already have such a vast navy that putting so many troops in Europe is pointless. Europe reminds us all the time how we aren't wanted there. Surely they can keep the peace without us :^)
