kek i lived close to that building
i really hate this
>>56733013
There's something very calming about it, and there's so many sides to it too. I would love to explore it in real life sometime. Here's a nice gallery, if interested.

>>56733290
where is this?
Germany?
Netherlands?
>>56732819
Can't say I disagree, as it really is a cathedral of amazing proportions and detail. Shame its immediate surroundings don't match it at all, but I guess that's what war does to a city.
It also has the most perfect cross on its back.
>>56733719
It's somewhere in the outskirts of Amsterdam.

There's something about brutalist facilities combined with tropical vegetation that just feels so right, you know?
>>56733459
yes : ^ )
>you will never be a master architect and/or fabulously wealthy so you can immerse yourself in cutting edge buildings
>>56734043
kek i was talking about Weimar Republic
>tfw Norway doesn't have any true JUST buildings
Guess I'll just post a Swedish one instead
>>56733969
ok ok

most buildings in this country look like dogshit
feels bad man
>>56734218
ayy my eyes

Not exactly tropical, but it's a common Norwegian practice to put commies in the woods.

>>56734349
Same, but at least some of yours are memeworthy. Our terrible buildings are bland and sad.
>>56734407
>>56734605
commieblocks are a slightly different thing
I'm talking those oddly shaped non-housing structures
OP picture seems to be living spaces but still
here's a good example
>>56734821
Most buildings are bland and sad here too.

The most futuristic cluster anywhere in the world.

imo HK is more futuristic
>>56735216
I was about to say the same
>>56735216
Dubai is most futuristic.
>>56735216
More cyberpunk for sure. But the architectural style of Moscow IBC is more futuristic IMO.
>>56735201
>>56735396
>This is the future
>>56735216
I don't know. Most of Hong Kong's towers are just plain pencil towers, and the few that stick out don't really go for cyber-punk, except maybe Bank of China and their two tallest. Moscow has the advantage that pretty much all the towers in that cluster are very cutting edge in their own right.
>>56735398
>>56735349
of course it is but that area is hardly any cluster at all
>>56735500
half of Moscow's towers are a fucking failure
>>56734034
Yeah, just like your home in Africa.
>>56734555
Metal as fuck.
>>56735241
>>56735790
That might be the case, but speaking specifically of MIBC, it -looks- very modern and high-tech. Hong Kong is naturally vastly superior, being a full-fledged skyline, but the designs in Moscow are more up to date. If only Hong Kong didn't suddenly stop building skyscrapers...

i think it's more of a jurassic park/james bond thing
>>56736464

Well...
The Toshogu Shrine in Nikko from the early 17th century, built and dedicated only to the finest of warriors during the Edo period, and very widely acclaimed for its over-the-top ornamentation and intricate paintings.
Apparently it's pretty popular, but I only learned of it recently from a manga lmoa
The Spire of Dublin.
The Spire of Dublin is a big, big spire in Dublin.
>>56738756
top tier really
>>56739980
How big are we speaking?
>>56740702
121m
Looks bigger than it is I think.
>>56740811
It does look bigger than that, yeah. I wonder if it's because it's so slim, creating an optical illusion of sorts.
This is what the outskirts of London are like. Bleugh.
>>56741217
Indeed.
Bump
Belgians rekt
>>56741423
Belgium's guildhall squares are beautiful. 10/10.
>>56741748
... The Brussels one, though, is packed with tourists. I'm not one of these people who hates tourists or anything, but I'm just saying.
If you want a quieter one you try Antwerp, which is as impressive.
A comfy town in Norway before it was bombed by the Germans.
>>56741748
I fucking love Belgian architecture
>>56743865
Probably our biggest loss during WW2, as it was one of the few towns we actually put some wealth into (in the north). Nowadays it just looks drab and horrible.
>>56744034
Lelgium is pretty impressive for a non-country. I honestly think it has some of the most beautiful cities in the whole world.
>>56741725
mmm is that in Lakeview or Lincoln Park? You really don't see these much anymore on the northside. They're all being torn down to make way for fuck-ugly guady mansions and condo towers.
>>56744197
ye goat tier
>>56744197
That title belongs to Italy m8oooooooooo
Pic non-related but the French Quarter in New Orleans makes my ding-a-ling hard.
>>56744640
Where's the statue of Ignatius J. Reilley?
>>56744640
Probably does, but I have never cared that much for Italy (as much as it hurts to say).
I'm probably just a fan of Belgian towns because I've been in the country repeatedly since I was a kid.
>>56744279

there are tons of neat buildings hiding all over the north side

you like cities based on fucktons of mills? no? how about the second tallest free-standing clock tower in the world?
>>56754860
as an aside, if you ever want your actually really dense urban area to feel completely lifeless and empty, just build a fuckton of brick mills everywhere. it'll feel like detroit, i swear
>>56761635

F no, you can't call this "Belgian architecture" it's Brabantic gothic. It's the architecture of the duchy of Brabant.
>>56774963
wew ok then brabantic gothic is amazing
>>56776144
>all these buildings that look like they were drawn by kids
Function should always take precedence over form in all aspects of life, including urban architecture. Fuck your gay color schemes and fancy but pointless details and shit, give me a gray, utilitarian, concrete box any day.
Pic related, some proper urban architecture.
>>56776543
>on the next episode of "cucked by communism"...
>>56776894
Yeah, Sweden, you're one to talk about getting cucked.
Also, have some more proper urban architecture.

Good to see grey pave stone without retarded red stripes, and the form is pleasant.
>>56779885
not really my taste but quite nice and clean
a lot of cities here are much worse than this
>>56780265
dude pyramids lmao
>>56780981
i swear to god they could build it in la defense and it would just look good but
>just fuck my shit up
>>56781679
It's so thick, that I think it would look out of place there too among all the slim towers. Just a weird design in general. Is it really going to be built?
>>56781801
yes tough it's going to be shorter than the original project
>>56782080
>>56782131
Looks like a building from some old-fashioned sci-fi movie. Don`t you think so?
>>56782080
>>56782131
Metabolism can be so ugly, but yet so incredibly cool. Especially that building looks like it's built out of washing machines, even if it actually looks quite nice inside.
>>56779525
It's not meant to be pretty, just functional. And that's the real beauty of it Also, it looks like a fucking fortress. How is that not cool?
The leaning towers of Madrid would be pretty cool if they were like twice the height.
>>56785527
idk looks too heavy to me

>>56789240
>>56789240
>>56789425

that would be hard and expensive to build
>>56793415
What a lousy taste! How can you mix the modern skyscrappers with the old ones in one place? Honestly, I don`t think it looks good.
>>56794016
> How can you mix the modern skyscrappers with the old ones in one place?
That's what New York is all about.
Nothing in this thread can compare to what we'll see in India in 2025. I'm almost embarrassed to post my own city.
>>56790833
Possibly. Are there even any other and taller leaning towers?
never ever stop making these threads
i love them

The house in the middle, the brown one. Looks like they wanted to build the biggest cruise ship in the world, but the budget was cut, so they just left it as a house.
>>56744640
Could you not at least post a shot that makes it look nice?
>>56794421
Prince Charles is mai husbando
He tells those modernist architects to go fuck themselves and doesn't afraid of anything
>>56734478
Does anyone know why the windows on the Mercury tower have copper in them? Is it artistic? Does it serve some sort of function?
>>56805512
Most likely just to make it look different, so yes, artistic. I don't think it serves any other purpose than regular glass or reflective blue glass.
