Tons of money is pumped into Crimea. It's just whenever any money is being poured anywhere in Russia, you're lucky if even 1% reaches its destination

It's quite possible, perhaps even likely, that they would have voted to break away from Ukraine (it wouldn't be legal for them to do so even if they did, but that's a separate issue).
However, a referendum with supposed 96.7% in favor and 83% turnout is Soviet-style nonsense. Monitored solely by the military which invaded and Russian NGOs, it became a joke. There's a reason it was widely panned in the UNGA, even by countries which aren't close to the West. Nobody bought it.

It looks like a joke, but it doesn't counter common people opinion there as we can see it in tons of videos. Now only they are not so sure about it as they get all they expected form RF.
>>56623777
I read on Bloomberg that the ruling elites of Crimea are contemplating revolt because Kremlin cut off the gravy train after discovering level of corruption that is shocking even for Russia.
>>56624851
America's 40% turnout is not representative of many countries.
The vast majority of people in Crimea supported joining Russia and claiming otherwise is showing of how little you know about the place.
