This is more accurate, at least to me. The internet got everything dull or messy.
The 90s or the pre internet world was very calm and everyone could have a decent "progressive" attitude toward something fundamental and could try and show something new far easier than today.
Now no one can have such an attitude anymore due to many shitty problems that cant be solved by the conventional progressive/conservative ways of the 1st world. If you easily got to it without any deep idea about yourself and other people/races/cultures, you'd have no choice but to be an SJW or just an ignorant hipster or else a faggot like /pol/cucks as the opposite.
