i know they were Gaulic in the past, but how ever would they be Celtic now? They'd be as Celtic as maybe Boston, except Boston maybe more so. And that's low.

actually most of Celts had dark hairs.

really now, as a bunch of Icelandic-speak culturally Icelandic types, how are they Celtic now? What does heritage actually provide? If it is not culturally present, it may as well be nonexistent.

They were North-Germanics who took Celtic wives from Albion and Eire apparently.

This is a very strong indication, so don't go denying, minimizing or hushing it up, because we lack clear cultural cross-pollination
>>
>>56608632
but how does theme being "genetically Celtic" really make them Celtic? Their cultural is entirely Germanic.
>>
>>56608467
There is more than one type of Celt.

There were for example Celtiberians (dark hair), but Gauls (La Tène Central European Celts) and Atlantic Celts (Britons, Irish) had blonde and red hair.

We found intact bog bodies for example; dated 2000 years

her hair is fine. I wouldn't want her hair to fart or shit on her hair if it's as long as you like.

true.

France is not celtic actually, the only celtic stuff is on brittany but that's not related with ancient gauls but with brittons coming to france during middle ages, also they were very latinized too even if they speaked a celtic language. ( now spoken only by peasants ).

The only last real "celtic" people are in the British isles, even if they interbreeds with germanic peoples.

French, Spaniards, Italians, Portuguese, Belgians and some eastern or central people have just very ancient ancestors but not a celtic culture.

How Celtiberians have dark hairs and not the others? the dark brown hairs are currently the most commons on Ireland you know? also northern spain have Atlantic Celts too. ( there are even irish legends about that ).

Blonde hairs were mostly a germanic stuff, not celtic actually, Ancient Celts loved painted their hairs on reddish colours.

Why would Celtic genes make you culturally Celtic? But it still counts as Celtic heritage.

The Belgae were mostly Germanics who adopted a Celtic culture. Vandals were mostly Slavs who adopted Germanic culture. There are many other examples of mixed bags who adopted one culture while being another.

Both Celts and Germanics drink beer since olden days, so do Czechs, so does that make them culturally Celto-Germanic?

Also it must affect some physical characteristics of Icelandics compared to other North-Germanics that don't have a great amount of Celtic admixture.

> But it still counts as Celtic heritage.

No, this is too ancient and currently nothing looks like their original culture on continental countries, this is very latinized and christianized.

also the ancient celtic culture was nothing, there no writing, no cultural stuff, all of that stuff came during middle ages on Ireland or Wales.

we have just old stones, names of gods, ancient ruins, archeological objects and that's all.

>Belgians

Genetically Belgium is 2 parts Celtic, 2 parts Germanic and 1 part Latin.

Flemings being somewhat more Germanics and Walloons more Gallo-Roman, although Namur is mostly West- and Central-Germanic ; Ardennes Gallo-Roman ; and in Flemish region: Antwerp most Latin population (!), West-Flanders coast and French-Flanders Anglo-Frisian and Atlantic-Celtic.

Crossroad of civilisations since Julius Caesar, and before even.

Good she's single, shame she had a kid, shame she isn't teenage anymore.

It's not just cultural, of course this was too long ago. But since it is still heavily present in genetic profile, facial and other physical characteristics of the people now are also interesting.

And toponomy, you can learn a lot by studying the oldest known names for places, rivers, forests.

eg: here ending in -ingem = Frankish farmer settlement, -y = from Roman -iacum = villa settlement

-yde germanic for small harbour
Koksijde = seaside settlement of the Chauci
Lombardsijde = idem of the Longobardi
Zwevegem = -gem (cf. home, germanic) of the Suebi [later Schwaben]
Moringhem = home of the Morini (Atlantic-Celtic Belgae who lived in the area from before Caesar, christianised in 400 AD by St-Victricius)
Wicquinghem = Viking-hem

Toponyms tell you alot about the historical settlers of the land.
