I really believe in feminism, and have never seen a "crazy whiny bitch" like Americans do or like 9gag and facebook memes had popularized.
My aunt and her daughters all identify themselves as feminists (all of them well educated sociologists and psychologists), and have heard about what they stand for, and I think is really neat, and I would actively support their cause any given time if I had the chance.
And I mean, every social movement has an opposite force that will always make the struggle harder, and that's ok, That's how things are supposed to be. I think that the real problem is with feminists that try to silence people that oppose them, just like people that oppose feminism will try to silence them, as crazy as they may sound everybody has the right to say whatever they want to say, as long as they are not inflicting anybody's rights.

I don't give modern feminism the pleasure of calling it feminism, because it stains the reputation of those women who did fight against real inequality in western world. Not true.
Feminism is the idea that men and women (1) are not, (2) can be and (3) should be "equal", for some arbitrary or sophistic definition of "equal".
The assumption re: (1) is always that women are disadvantaged or oppressed and that men are privileged or favoured.
The action consequent to (3) may or may not involve focussing solely on so-called "women's issues" - often feminism seeks not only to privilege women but to harm men. This is a clear example of dealing with both sexes, not just one.
Your statement entirely ignores the basic theoretical assumptions, and misrepresents the conclusions of feminism, too.
Stuff like gender points for universities and the likes were removed in Sweden once girls were overrepresented in education. The whole movement is a farce in Scandinavian countries by now, the irony being the same liberals are very defending of suppresion of women among muslims and in Islamic countries. They complain about privilege and defend hijabs in the same sentence,

This is true for the state of feminism today. It is not only out to discriminate against men but also propogate racism against Caucasians whilst privileging other groups such as the Blacks and Muslims. It is also detrimental to women's rights since it actually forces women to give up what they have, their femininity.
