The black prince ransacked it during the 100 years war. Not really a surprise, as the city was at the border of the duchy of Aquitaine. It was not occupied, but still massively destroyed nonetheless.
Ironically, it was "conquered" by the French résistance during WW2 on August 21th 1944 after a 1 week long battle, while the allies were busy fighting up north and not really giving a fuck about what was happening in the south.
