What is your opinion on pic related?
Have you had success with it?
Is the mobile/tablet app inferior to the website version?
A FUCKING GREEN OWL
I've been using it for about a year learning Spanish. It's an easy way to keep track of what you're learning and motivating you to keep going every day.
I wouldn't say it's perfect for learning another language. I might be able to understand Spanish that is written out, but it's just noise when i hear it spoken. Actually speaking to native speakers would help that.
I have no idea what the mobile app is like, I've heard you can dress your bird in different costumes on it... I don't really need that.
It's pretty great. I use Memrise as well

Ehhh whenever you're learning a language the easiest way is to learn a few basic things and then just brute force your way through translating word per word from many texts.

Is it possible to learn the language grammatically by duolingo?
It's useless if it teaches only some "phrases" such as "good morning" "hello" "Good bye" thing.

Seems like you'd just end up with a very stilted "bookish" dialect and would have trouble dealing with nonstandard but common speech.

I never said the idea was about translating solely books.

As a person who hates the process of learning languages, it's pretty good.
