Tell me about the cycling culture in your country.
>>
>be cycler
>get hit by car
>>
>>56475359
they don't exist in my area. Too dangerous to ride around.
>>
What I never understand is why they opt to ride on the car lanes if there's a dedicated bike lane or combined pedestrian/bike lane
>>
>>56475359
Your picture sums it up pretty well.

Basically, this.
>>
Cyclerfag in mind our people is poor or just a fag, maybe sportsmen.
>>
Once I bumped a cyclist and he fell. I ran away lol.
>>
>>56475359
pests of the road

but i'd rather have them than the motorcycle riders
>>
Quite a lot of bikes TOE BIE HOONUST
>>
>>56475359
People in cars hate pedestrians.
Pedestrians hate people in cars.
No matter which means of transport, everyone hates cyclists.
>>
>>56475359
Their bodies make good replacement for holes in pavement
>>
>tfw NSW bike laws
I miss cycling in Germany

>>
>>56475550
Those are put in place because if you ride on the car lane you are bound by the same road laws. You don't get to run a red light for any fucking reason.
>>
Is it true that in Europe wearing a helmet while cycling makes you look stupid?
>>
>>56475604
In Russia yes. Never saw anyone cycling in a helmet.
>>
>>56475550
>Riding furiously
What did he mean by this?
>>
>>56475550
>riding through a red light
>$425 fine

What the fuck
>>
>>56475604
Yeah between children and teens
It was like that when I was younger, but in that case it was cycling in a village and not in a crowded road in a city or anything.
No one would ever use a helmet, but occasionaly there was a kid whose mom forced him to wear one to go cycling with his friends and he'd get mocked
>>
If you want to ride a Bike in my city, you are fucked. They put the bike path between the pavement and the road and it's like 50cm large.
>>
>>56475728
Where do you live ? Because most of our bike path are shit anyway so that could be anywhere
>>
>>56475763
Nancy.
But It's getting better I guess.
>>
>>56475465
this
>be me drive car
>traffic going slow
>motorbikes are trying to squeeze in gaps between lanes
>one guy hit my side mirror and broke it
>he escapes
>cant even chase him or trying to hit him back because busy traffic

>>
I go everywhere by bike. -30 C was pretty bad but I survived.
>>
>>56475423
Car lanes are better maintained, especially during winter. For example, where I live, car lines don't have gravel anymore, where bike- and pedestrian lanes are full of it.
>>
I've rided all my life, there are almost no bike lanes here but never seen any driver being an asshole

>>425 for riding fast
>>
>>56476227

Motorcycles make for an easy way to kill oneself, as their drivers have little in the ways of self-preservation instincts, with the Greek motorcyclists being amongst the most hopeless cases.
>>
>>56476227
its their fault they shouldnt ride on the lines and stick to a lane or the emergency lane which is specified for smaller and slower vehicles and yet they insist on driving the fast lanes. drivers always stick to lanes but bikers are slow as fuck always switch left to right and even stopped in the middle of the road. if anything they caused more accidents traffic jams
>>
>>56476389
>motorcycles
>slow
Shut up, cager
>>
>>56476359
I can vouch for that
>>
>>56475577
It's fair enough if the current light systems actually detected the bikes y'know

Some of the inner city cycle paths have detectors in place just for bikes, but some roads don't.

I personally have never run a red on a bike, but I can see why some people would on emptier roads I guess

Your pic pretty much sums it up.

Make it a 60km/h zone and add an endless stream of oncoming vehicles to make overtaking impossible, and that's pretty much my summer drive feels.
>>
Spring is here, so there's a lot of butthurt drivers complaining about cyclists. What they don't realize is of course that the more people who ride their bike to work, the fewer cars are on the road. As a person who both drives and cycles a lot, I have yet to encounter any conflicts. Probably because I don't act like a dick on my bicycle and I'm not an impatient asshole behind the steering wheel.
>>
>>56475423
1. They are going to bike 3-4km, and Sidewalk or Bike Lane only goes for 1km
2. There is traffic lights waiting for button and wait, every 300m, for the sidewalk
3. Lanes are not maintained. Especially during spring, fall and winter.

>>56475640
Being a asshole, and bike on the sidewalk when its actually populated. While going fast.
>>
>>56476411
>drives car
>accidents ahead

>rides bike
>accidents ahead
>tries to evade
>skids and falls like little bitch

>cant claim insurance because didnt pay road tax lol save monez

i dont knw the bike culture in murrica. this is pretty much happens here all the time

Maybe in your shithole, I know all about Malaysian """drivers"""
>>
No one (or almost no one) uses a car, everyone cycles or uses a motorbike.
It's fucking annoying.

>move to western country when
>>
>>56475359
The university I work at used to advertise commuting by bicycle a lot, until two staff members died hit by cars doing just that, at which point the campaign abruptly stopped.
>>
>>56476592
Why would you ride bike with broken brakes?
Stopping on bike at like 30km/h is just tapping the brake and stopping in like 2-3m. Its fucking nothing.
>>
Best way to travel around the city since too much traffic and since public vehicles are gay af

i dont ride bikes its dangerous. and riders are mostly irresponsible here out of 6 million only 50% had licenses, they never paid their road taxes and renew insurance let alone maintain them just buy and ride em if broken or accident buy another one unless you broke your limbs or ded. theyre always ride fast until it reaches 90km/h when cars are driving above 120 i dont knw why bikers are trying to match the speed with big cars when they know damn well being vulnerable to accidents. pic related tho what most of them ride
>>
>>56476211
Traffic is going slow because of car cunts like you, you stupid fuck. Bike bro was doing his part to solve the traffic problem which you were contributing towards.

Noone wears them in Japan for some reason.
>>
>>56475359
The unpleasant climate, long distances and difficult terrain make Reykjavík a poor contender for a bicycle city. Regretfully, there's still a bunch of grown ups sin spandex on the motorways anyway. Downtown it isn't a problem since traffic there is always shit anyway.

My city has lots of bike lanes, and in comparison to most others the drivers are pretty respectful of cyclists. I made the mistake of riding my bike through Sydney when I visited; never again.

NSW is the ultimate nanny state shit hole.

Enjoy getting fat and not having a nightlife you cucks.
>>
>>56475359
Bretty good especially where I live. It's full of students who only ride bikes. The infrastructure is wide spread and well maintained. Drivers and cyclists are not friends, but German Ordnung prevents most accidents.
>>
>>56475550
>fine for riding without helmet

Are pedestrians also required to wear a helmet? Head injuries are just as common among them.
