Nobody here really knows why we have it either. Our community college has a huge number of exchange students, and has the ability to teach various medical programs that usualy only universities or specialized medical schools can, and works very closely with the UC. Maybe the university was supposed to tie into that and be some sort of central valley medical university or something. I dont know.
It is kind of strange. There is literally nothing to do here, i have no idea why someone would want to come here unless they were a shutin to start with. We have like the second worst air in the country on top of it all (just from the dust).
Im 31, and i remember when i was a kid hearing we were going to get a university. I got kind of excited thinking maybe it would make interesting things happen. Pretty much nothing has changed at all. Real estate went up and down some as people anticipated something happening.. nothing happened.
