It's probably for the best that English is the international language. Other European languages are harder to learn. Russian, Arabic, and Mandarin are just too different from others. While Esperanto is a meme language.

Everyone should just learn Finnish as their second language so everyone would be pretty much equal in regard to having difficulty learning it since it's only related to Estonian and distantly to Hungarian. Also we'd then have more memes.
