so i could care less. my family is normal. we really had just one person in our family wearing a head scarf, no burka or anything. my grandma.

Nobody is forcing them to wear a miniskirt, but a hijab is a cultural ''object'' and if they wear it it means they still retain that culture and are not fully westernized. Muslim women are forced to wear hijabs directly (wear it or I will rape you) or indirectly through social pressure (only sluts don't wear a hijab, you aren't a slut right?). They are forced into it by their religion and culture.

Isn't assimilation the end goal though? History has shown us that society always performs best when there is unity. I guess it can be nice to occasionally see something different but diversity usually hurts the general stability and state of society.
