Because the whole world has been so westernized you don't usually notice the weirdness of the mainstream culture from the west.
There are actually lots of things that we Japanese public find extremely weird about the western culture and today's global civilization from their ways of greetings to social etiquettes to stupid things broadcasted on the media, but it's just we don't react much and not enjoy making fun of them unlike you guys.
