How much would a decent property in Brazil be?
>>
>>56116245
A safe one? Couple million
>>
>>56116245
a 2 bedroom appartment in a habitable neighborhood in a good city would be something like 300.000 R$ or 50 thousand pounds. A house with, say, 150 square meters would be something like 150k pounds
>>
>>56116286
A few years ago? Yes. Not now, though. Our currency is around 3 times cheaper than it was 5 years ago. It's starting to pick up again now that our commie goverment is being disbanded. May be a good time to buy property if you have dollars/euros/pounds on hand
>>
>>56116245
Depends on the city and your concept of decent.

A 3 floor house with a pool in a nice neighborhood here in my city can be found for around R$ 350k (65k pounds).

If you want to live in a closed neighborhood, full of foreigns, with 6 pools and 2 saunas and a piece of untouched forest inside, it's about a thousand pounds per month, renting. I know the price because my uncle lives in one.

What's a "nice" neighbourhood in Brazil?
>>
>>56116286
For a million of our currency (187 thousand of yours) you can buy in Porto Alegre a big house with pool, two auxiliary houses (one for your maid, another for barbecues) and football court and parking space, located in an island with a small shipping deck for your jet ski.

20 min by car, or 15 by jet ski from the center of the city. My friend just bought this one so we are throwing our parties there lately, kek.

>>56116548
One in which most people are middle or high class. You might still get mugged, but you won't be murdered.

>>56116537
Canoas, RS
>>
>>56116630
>Canoas
>nice neighborhood

It's possibly one of the worst cities in the Trensurb strip along with Mathias Velho.

You're sending that British guy to a death trap.
>>
Once upon a time a friend of mine visited Brazil.

While waiting at a bus stop a friendly young man in a black woman beater held him at knifepoint in a calm and casual manner, asking for his wallet.

After my friend handed it over, the man nonchalantly walked across the road into a shop, bought a sandwich, then returned to the bus stop and returned his wallet, money and all.

Long story short, you'll probably be mugged in Brazil, but with a little luck they'll be nice about it.
>>
>>56116648
It's possibly one of the worst cities in the Trensurb strip along with Mathias Velho.

Clearly you don't even know what you are talking about, since Mathias Velho is not a city but a neighborhood.

I live here and it's pretty nice
https://www.google.com.br/maps/@-29.9156426,-51.1600848,3a,75y,277.2h,83.15t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1szWtBuHKjM0wK0ki1dVshQw!2e0!6s%2F%2Fgeo1.ggpht.com%2Fcbk%3Fpanoid%3DzWtBuHKjM0wK0ki1dVshQw%26output%3Dthumbnail%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26thumb%3D2%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D41.522923%26pitch%3D0!7i13312!8i6656?hl=pt-BR

Just avoid going to Mathias Velho, it's not that difficult, what would you do there anyway?
>>
>>56116660
the funny thing is, I've never been mugged. I have a few friends who have, but never in broad daylight like that, and I lived in Rio for years. I would like no know where the fuck was he
>>
>>56116599
Not really m8. A 200 sq meter house in a good neighborhood like Moinhos is around 2-3 mil R$. A house in an island on the guaiba bay like you're discribing would cost more than that. You can maybe get a fancy house like that in the deep suburbs or some smaller town
>>
>>56116734
Never asked him for the specifics, just listened to his little anecdote.

Fairly sure it wasn't Rio though desu. Sounded like it was on a pit stop while he was on his way to Bolivia or something.
>>
>>56116734
I got mugged around 20 times in my life. Kek

But it's because I expose myself a lot, I like walking the city in the middle of the night and I just don't care, I don't carry anything of value anyway. So they just take 5 bucks from me and carry their way. Only once I was approached by a guy with a gun, it was pretty scary but he was a gentleman. I had nothing with me, so I lied I just got mugged, he said I should take care and not walk there at that time of the night. Kek
>>
>>56116630
Is getting murdered a very real threat in Brazil outside the favelas? Do most Brazillians know someone that has been murdered?
>>
>>56116719
LOL, excuse me, i meant to write Sapucaia.

The houses you posted don't cost 350k R$. Those are rich people's houses.

I'm from Canoas and this place is a gigantic shithole. It's basically what parts of UK will become in 2 decades. Rich people hiding in wealthy neighborhoods like in the link you posted and ghetto brown people robbing and killing everything.
>>
>>56116896

>>
>>56116902
Two of my mother's cousins were murdered a few meters away from me, but i was 7 years at the time and i grew up in a German-Polish ghetto with plenty of rivalry and guns.
>>
>>56116879
The most dangerous cities of Brazil are in the border with Bolivia and Paraguay

>>56116877
Moinhos is the most expensive neighborhood of the city. It's not smart to buy property there, nor it's wise to use it as a comparison.

This house on the Island (ilha da pintada) is real, I know the price, and it's not that unusual. Just look up the prices there.
>>
>>56116879
lmao. That's in the middle of nowhere, thousands of miles from a city. There's barely any police there. If you come here and expect to be resonably safe, stick to major cities. Why the fuck was he there?
>>
>>56116916
They are pretty cheap mate, some new neighborhoods are being created here and you can easily buy a house for a cheap price.

>>56116902
My metropolitan area had 12 murders in one day! But it's all in the same bad neighborhoods which I never go, so it doesn't affect me at all.

I know a lot of people because of my job, and the only time I heard about a murder of someone somewhat close (friend of friend) was because the guy tried to fight against the robber, not a wise thing to do.
>>
>>56116966
It's more wise to buy property on a valued real-state than on some isolated island. Sounds very unsafe, and a bigger gamble, as it is just as likely that the region will become less valued while a house in moinhos will probably only go up in price
>>
>>56116927
It does, it's the only thing I miss about living abroad.

If Brazil fixed the violence problem it would become a great country to live, but at the moment it bothers me that I can't walk at night without a very real possibility of mugging.
>>
>>56116997
Wanderlust I guess? He was regaling us with stories of this travelling coke bar he was following from country to country that sold the stuff for ludicrously cheap prices.
>>
>>56116902
yes, yes
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVl2BBuF_yU
>>
>>56117071
Yes, but I mean, I wanna live in a big nice house, so I rather not buy in the most expensive neighborhood. If you buy in Moinhos you won't make much for your money.
>>
>>56116916
Another house in the neighborhood you posted.

1.4 million reais(264k British pounds). 99% of Brazilians will never make this much money in their entire lives.
>>
>>56117058
>They are pretty cheap

Upper-class scum detected.
>>
>>56116902
if you live on a good neighborhood, not really. It's very similar to the US. Take Rio for examble. The murder rate there is about the same as the murder rate in Miami. Thing is, 90% of it happens in the poor neighborhoods. It's mostly drugdealers killing each other. The middle-class region of the city (south-zone) has the murder rate more similar to england's. Smae thing happens in all other major cities, except the ones in the north and northeast of the country. A few capitals there are dangerous all around
>>
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bo1SKPUxJY

thefts on traffic lights are common
>>
>>56117161
Shit, that's too expensive.

We bought the terrain and built a similar house for less than half that price 6 years ago. Either the housing princes spiked or that specific house is asking for too much.
>>
>>56117211
Murder rates only, because rich people don't leave their houses. But robberies rates are 10 times higher than anywhere in USA or UK.
>>
>>56117217

Why is it always in Rio?

Fuck, this is why the whole world thinks Brazil as a whole is like Rio.
>>
>>56117127

>downtown rio de janeigro

that's cherry picking, familia
>>
>>56117155
I can't afford to buy proipery there, I'm just saying it's a wiser investment long-term. It's smarter, in the long run, to buy a 2 bedroom appartment around that region than to buy a giant house in the middle of fucking nowhere
>>
>>56117273
>>56117263
Downtown Porto Alegre then.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjvPwB1ojcw
>>
>>56117258
10 times is a slight exageration. but you're correct. While being killed here is really easy to avoid if you're not stupid and live in a good neighborhood, being mugged is a distinct possibility unless you're careful
>>
>>56117297

>literal favela
>downtown

Fucking hate southfags, but at least give the right info.
>>
>>56117273
I lived in both rio and porto alegre. Both have fairly dangerous downtowns.
>>
>>56117339
That's where the average Porto Alegrense lives. Did you just call us all favelados? You want to fight?
>>
>>56117297

how is that favela in downtown Porto Alegre, anon?
>>
>>56117370
Porto Alegre has no favelas.

Porto Alegre looks like a dystopian warzone though:

If you're gonna lie, do it better. That's an isolated neighborhood in the far south of the city.

kek. It's full of vilas, which are the same thing only smaller. Every few blocks you see one, tucked in between streets.

Cidade baixa isn't really downtown fämpai, although is right by it. I'm also 30 minutes from where you are. I'll come by tomorrow to rape your dog

>>
>>56117697
downtown=centro financeiro. Cidade baixa é bairro residencial boêmio
>>

Ah, me enganei nessa
