What's Irish food like?
I have never heard of an Irish restaurant before.

Memes aside potatoes are in a lot of our food. Pic related is what an average Irish dinner looks like. Pork seems to be the most common meat served here.
I don't think we have enough original food to warrant an entire menu's worth though. The only traditional dish I can think of that isn't common outside the country is pig's feet. But even that's pretty uncommon here and when it was (in my mother's time) she wouldn't like to be seen eating it because it was considered a peasants dish.

I guess an Irish restaurant could work considering the massive diaspora, but it would make more as a pub that serves food.

It's fucking shit. All our cuisine is just meat and vegetables. We will also try to find a way to smuggle alcohol in to our dishes.
Our most well known local chef is Irish. Like us and the yanks, I understand that their cuisine is basically taking good local produce and using whatever recipe suits.
AFAIK it's just meat stew but you use Guinness instead of beef stock.

My mother comes from a community in the east coast that are pretty much misplaced Irishmen, she made this stew out of stewing beef, carrots, potatoes and parsnips.
