However I am fairly certain that instructions to take up arms do not really come from Buddhism doctrinally. Whereas they do come from Islam's doctrine. If a Buddhist kills in the name of religion, he's probably breaking a religious precept and not going by the book. If a Muslim kills in the name of religion, it may well be justified by his religion (depending on the situation).
