It will be a long time before the place looks alright again. Most of the problem is that the country has lost most of it's population and many aren't going to be that interesting in going back to rebuild.
Might be worth going back as some sort of archaeologist though as despite all the destruction that has happened to sites that have already been dug up, ironically some building have been destroyed which were in the way of archaeological digs before so there's a possibility of even more ancient artifacts now to be found in the future
