Started chinese classes at uni this week.
Pinyin - English pronunciation is a fucking nightmare desu, but tones are easier than I first thought.

I've studied Mandarin for 4 years now and spent 2 of those years in China. Once you get over a certain 'wall of Chinese', it get's SUPER easy. It's just the building blocks that are a nightmare.

Also I started learning Hiragana this week at uni and fuck those moonrune squiggles. At least Chinese characters make sense and can be remembered. Hiragana is just lines and shit that look really really similar.
