To be fair, our previous government, which was right winged, was a complete disaster and many banks bankrupted, which led to people to believe on magic solutions. You know, the same old story over again like in other countries around the world. Chavez might had been a leftist scum, but the guy knew how to manipulate and convince the jealous poor sectors of the country which felt abandoned and ignored by the previous governments, hence why he gained so much support.
All the money influx our country received, therefore, was wasted on social programs and building other projects around the continent, since he was more interested in spreading socialism around the region rather than still fixing many of the issues our country still had. The situation we're living today are the consequences of all this politics which were carried on. Now that the oil barrel prices have dropped, the crisis is far more noticeable than ever, hence why Maduro, who's a complete dumbass without any charisma, has lost more than half of the support his predecessor enjoyed.

Well, the Government always tries to give the image that the Army still supports them no matter what, and that they still believe in Socialism. The reality is another one, because there are strong rumours they forced Maduro to accept his defeat on last december General Election, when he lost most of the Parliament to the opossition (their biggest defeat ever).
The truth is, when the time comes, I honestly doubt they will want to carry on a carnage against their own citizens. Which is why Chavez created small armed groups on the poor sectors of Caracas, which members are mostly of extreme-left idelogy, in other words, a lost cause. Those won't think it twice before killing those they deem as "Imperialist scum".

The diaspora of Venezuelans is quite big, though still small compared to the current population of their country, so we would all need to go back to the country if we want to fix it.
The problem is that, some members of the Venezuelan diaspora will hate me for this, but the truth is that, while many preferred to have a more decent life and protect their families rather than having loyalty to a lost cause, some are also defeatist people who just criticize instead of doing anything for their nation when they're on another country. Sobre los nuevos parlamentarios, la gente aprende cuando cometen muchos errores, y nuestra oposición cometió muchísimos en los últimos años. No obstante parece que ya aprendieron la lección y están actuando como se debe, que es impedir que el ejecutivo siga abusando del poder como todos estos años y arrastrarlos al terreno de que muestren de una lo que son realmente. Podemos es un cáncer, la verdad es que la situación está jodida con ellos, han conseguido un gran apoyo gracias a la crisis y parece que siguen creciendo sacando votos de otros partidos de izquierda (PSOE e IU), IU acabará antes o después fusionándose con Podemos aunque digan lo contrario. El PSOE es el segundo mayor partido y el único respetable y serio de izquierdas, pero llevan ya años pasando por un mal momento y la actual situación política depende de lo que decidan estos días, yo espero que pacten con PP y Cs y no con Podemos y los independentistas.
Más preocupante es que el líder de Podemos le ha ofrecido al líder del PSOE que le apoyaría para ser presidente si le cede la vicepresidencia a él y aparte le da los ministerios de Economía, Sanidad, Educación, Interior, Defensa y la Plurinacionalidad (este último sería nuevo). Lo grave es que entre esos están Interior (policía) y Defensa (ejército), aparte proponía que le cediesen el control de RTVE (la televisión pública). A mí eso me parece el buscar un gran control o garantizar la posibilidad de un golpe de estado, aunque dudo de que en el ejército o la policía vayan a apoyarles.
