Rectangular and angular buildings just work for New York. I hate all these architects trying to force curves and roundness into the skyline.

Yeahp. You'll notice the area around the bridge to Meilahti is actually layout-wise taken from this plan, but even that was only built in the 1930s. Then the War happened, so no building, and after the War it was a whole new (modernist) world as far as city planning went.

The individual towers look good, clustered together they look good, but on the skyline it all looks lonely and out of place. It should be more vast horizontally, with a better build-up. It's like they only bothered building a small slice of a full skyline. Otherwise top-notch futuristic designs.

Yep. 1:23 width to height ratio.

They may need more than they showed in their diagram, but dampers are incredible with wind control. The Taipei 101 can withstand incredible typhoon winds and has no insulation from other buildings. If they evenly distribute them, they can even compensate for the thinness of the building. But yeah, modern concrete'll probably be the biggest factor.
