It is quite niche, at least from my personal experience. Maybe not on a superficial level, as naturally most people know architecture and even have preferences when it comes to it, but few ever really take the time to properly think about what the buildings around them really are. It's not a subject many people have a deeper understanding of, which is why I consider it more on the niche side of things.
As for East Asian architecture, I quite like it. Pagodas, temples, castles etc. are all right up my alley, but I only know some of the more famous landmarks, and mainly only in Japan. Such as pic related, the original Japanese skyscraper.

Surely it had a reason. In Norway lots of mistakes were made during the 50's, 60's and 70's in relation to nice architecture, because of the rise of modernism. This building in Oslo for example, one of the very few of its kind in all of Norway, was demolished to make way for a brutalist high-rise. For a brutalist high-rise, it's not bad, but it does upset me that it replaced such a rare beauty. Why they'd decide to put the new building in that location always struck me as weird too, as it's in a very high-class residential area, kind of far from the business-oriented city centre.

Truly was. Even if they aren't demolished, they'll end up with the shorter end of the stick. Here's a one of its kind in Norway that is still around, but with a lot of its charm lost. You can see its interesting base was replaced by a brutalist... thing. A thing that is also mostly a parking lot on top, unlike the open street it was 100 years ago, and you can also see that the building to the right was replaced. Although that can't really be helped, as it was victim to a failed bombing by the Germans in WW2. Still, wish they'd replaced it with something that would fit more.

It's the best form of housing. It has function of gated community so it's safe as hell. It's has plenty of parking spaces so there's no illegal parking problems (People in western countries won't understand but since SK has high population destiny rate it's a huge problem here) It's well planned so you can get many public service benefits from it. Emergency vehicles have hard time getting into some non-apartment neighborhoods in Seoul because of narrow roads and illegally parked vehicles. Now apartments in your picture are pretty old ones but recently they are well-designed.

I can't find very good pictures of it, unfortunately. In Norway we call them "bazaars", not that I quite know why, but I think it's because they typically contained stores and the like inside the arched walls. There were 3 of them in Oslo, largest and finest one being the one demolished there to make way for its brutalist replacement, and the only remaining one being this one, which goes in a circle behind the cathedral.

The first neon sign came to Norway in 1909, and was unfortunately also one of the last of its kind here. Both back then, and to this day, this single Freia sign remains a huge landmark. Makes you wonder why more didn't come, but I guess Europe in general wasn't prepared. Well, if you look away from Amsterdam, at least.
