I began learning Deutsch a few months ago, and I figure that this is a good way of being in contact with the language.

Extr@ is pretty good at introducing you to some colloquial German. It's cheesy, but you can learn some useful words and phrases from the series.

No, that would be haram. Look up "nasheed" on youtube to get a good idea of what German culture is like.

German culture has been slowly dying ever since the end of WWII thanks to American influence, and now, Fugees.
I recommend M. My mother watched it and she thought it was really good. Seems to have really good ratings on other sites too.

Don't know about shows, most of them are crap IMO but many people disagree. Maybe check out Stromberg and Deutschland 83.
With a German VPN or browser plugins like Hola you can Stream German TV.

Most other networks have similar websites, Pro7, Sat1, RTL, RTL2 etc.
Netflix is also pretty good for learning German, they let you mix and match subtitles and audio for most shows.

I'd advise against Lola Rennt and Good bye Lenin. Lola Rennt was indeed a "different" kind of film, it's not all that great for educational purposes. Good bye Lenin just isn't very good imo.

I guess. I don't know, I don't like ZDF because they've produced some pretty slanderous documentaries and done some shady stuff when making them, such as paying someone to act like they're a Russian soldier in Ukraine.
