>lamb chops aren't extremely common in other countries

Is this true? I have lamb maybe 3-4 times a week and thought it was common in most countries.

Sorted over here mate.

Looks good. I heard that it's not a regular thing to eat it in places like the US though. I need confirmation before curling up into a ball and crying.

I rarely eat lamb, but that's just me. I think it's mostly associated with Greek and Middle Eastern food around here. Pork, beef, and chicken are all much more popular in these parts.

lamb is just one of those meme meats that you eat if you are tired of the regular stuff

But I've never had veal, dose baby calves ;_;.

Young lambs are ok, older ones may have distinct lamb flavour disleasant for some people.
>>
lamb?
I think most of Japanese don't eat it so often.

Yeah, we have them, not common but not rare. Many restaurants serve them.

Last time had eated lamb ribs about 3 weeks ago in Georgian restaurant.

Lamb is associated with Easter, other than we almost never eat it here
>>
>>53420022
Lamb is expensive here in Sweden, and in Canada where I lived before.

It's readily available, but it's rather expensive, since neither country is ideal sheep raising land, and thus they are imported. Here I think we get most of it from France(?) and in Canada it's mostly from NZ.

That's so fucking bizarre to me. Lamb is such a common meat here and I don't know anyone who wouldn't eat lamb at least weekly.

Only young sometimes. Old is fat and smelly. I can't remember any Russian dish with lamb except one Christmas that is almost forgotten.
>>
>>53421031

id say its common in terms of being readily available at any decent meat serving establishment - but not in terms of how often people eat it

its literally just a meme meat or a holiday meat at best

Incorrect. You're probably eating mutton, rather than lamb.

>>53421115
Strange. I couldn't believe it when one of my American friends told me that he'd only ever eaten lamb a few times.
>>
>>53420319
>Pork

I mean, bacon is nice, and some sausages too. But it's probably the crappest meat overall. It's all about beef and lamb.

But we don't.
Also:

No.

Yeah, mutton is disgusting. Tough and chewy. But lamb is flavoursome and tender.

Yes. This dish is common for many nations, even Greeks have their pilafi
>>
I think people here are too squeamish to eat it because "ooo baby animals I will be a bad person"
>>
>>53421772
plov is known as Georgian or Armenian/Azerbaijanian dish here. At least where I live alright. And you barely see a lamb plov.
>>
>>53420150
Very rare here, I've had them a couple times but it's extremely uncommon. We are big on beef, pork, and chicken.
>>
>>53421031

It is easy to get here in The States, but not really common to eat a lot. I eat it maybe once or twice a month. I know a lot of people will have it on holidays or if family is visiting got dinner.
>>
>>53420022
lamb is fucking delicious, the problem is that the true way to cook it is in the cross, so it's kind of a hassle when you could just buy cow or pork and make it in the grill
>>
>>53420022
Beef, chicken, and pork are the most common meats to find in stores here. I love lamb but no one ever sells it.

America here, the best part of America as well.
Pork and Beef are extremely common here, because although they are somewhat tiresome to keep and breed, they are the tastiest of God's creatures, and through modern technology they are in fact very easy to grow.
In backwater countries far from the light of civilization, sheep are more common because they are the easiest to keep and breed, therefore they are most commonly used by the primitive savages in the far flung corners of the world. In these horrific conditions, cows and pigs eat too much, and produce too little. In these countries such as Australia and New Zealand, there is a major scarcity of food, running water, electricity, and basic hygiene products. Therefore, these poor starving must scrape together sheep flesh to sustain themselves, and spice it with whatever dirt, rocks, and twigs are nearby to convince themselves it's any good, and that their eating it is entirely their choice.

Personally I cant stand the taste if lamb. Its a mix between wet wool and farmhouse smell. Similar taste can also be,found in goat cheese. I dont know what it is but it tastes like shit

You can buy it at the store here. I've bought it a few times. It tastes kind of gamy compared to other meats.

Still really good in any kind of soup or stew.

It is eaten in a stew and also in tacos here, but not so often

I don't remember eating it more than three times a year

Last time I ate lamb was 7 years ago. Deep-fried pelmeni.

I mostly eat chicken, then beef/pork, usually minced.
Sometimes I eat fish, usually salmon, rainbow trout or sometimes seiti (pollock)/fish fingers.
I honestly can't remember when I last had lamb.

Fun fact: lamb has not been included in the Finnish CPI (consumer price index = kuluttajahintaindeksi) since the 50's. It simply doesn't matter.
>>
>>53420319
This. My family loves lamb but I hate it, it is like a shitty less tasty version of beef.
>>
>>53433499
Sheeps head was very common among poor people years ago. My parents still talk about sheep head, they say it is great.
We are well off but my parents still love to eat the shittest part of the animals.

Some stereotypes are real, I felt something missing from not eating them.

Hogget is more flavoursome but harder to get. Need to go to specialist butchers.

Slow roast Hogget shoulder is the business.
